Our Planning Policy team is at the heart of shaping the beautiful city of Upper Hutt. We have an ambitious work programme covering growth areas, mixed use development areas, natural environment, natural hazards, landscapes and heritage for our rolling district plan review and giving effect to national and regional direction.
We are looking for a Senior Planner who is comfortable leading multiple plan changes, engaging the community, and sharing their experience with the team. Future workstreams include commercial CBD and other business uses, designations and earthworks.

We are keen to hear from Senior Planners who:
• Have proven analytical abilities
• Are self-motivated and use their initiative
• Can work independently within a small team and coordinate/influence effectively across Council
• Enjoy taking ownership of their projects and • Can effectively engage with our customers.
A relevant tertiary qualification in planning/resource management is preferable, as well as relevant experience and a passion for planning.
