Upper Hutt City Council is undergoing some exciting changes, and critical to these is the successful delivery of Council’s ambitious capital works programme in an efficient and effective manner.  We are looking for an experienced and energetic Project Manager to join the team and help manage a range of capital works across our property, transport and recreation activities.

Reporting to the Assets and Programme Manager you will use best practice management principles to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and with safety in mind.  To succeed in this role you will be flexible, enjoy a diverse work load and thrive on applying your initiative and drive to achieve excellent results cross all aspects of managing your allocated projects.

You will be someone who has previously worked in infrastructure project management and is competent in applying professional project management methodologies and practices. 

Key responsibilities in this role include: 

  • Responsibility for scoping, documenting and managing projects from conception to completion;
  • Following and championing best practice and continuous improvement
  • Maintaining project schedules and reporting requirements;
  • Effective management of project risk
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management, communication skills and a customer focus
