A great opportunity is available to join a fast-paced, dynamic team as our Management and Systems Accountant.

The Management and Systems Accountant provides robust financial analysis to assist Council to make sound business decisions on a number of initiatives. This is a varied role which requires dynamic solutions to new initiatives as well as working on planned projects.

The Management and Systems Accountant will support the Financial Controller in implementing business improvement initiatives, and assist the Director Finance, Risk and Digital Solutions with financial strategy and policies. The role requires flexibility and initiative, the ability to interpret and communicate financial results to a variety of audiences.

Key responsibilities in this role include:

·         Business Partner to the Strategy, Partnerships and Growth Directorate

·         Provide robust financial analysis for a wide range of initiatives and projects

·         Drive Finance System and process improvements

·         Carry out a programme of internal audits and prepare reports for the Risk & Assurance Committee

To be considered for this role we are ideally looking for:

·         Chartered Accountant or equivalent

·         Sound understanding of finance systems and processes

·         Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications
