Have you read about the proposed changes to our District Plan?

Like other cities across the country, we need to change our District Plan (the rules for land use and development) to support the new rules the Government is introducing for all high-growth areas.

We’re keen to kōrero with you and are offering the following ways to connect:

  • Make a submission - consultation is open now and we’re encouraging everyone in Upper Hutt to read more about the proposed changes and to make a submission. To find out more, go to https://letskorero.upperhuttcity.com/planningforgrowth

  • ‘Friend of the Submitter’ – if you need help making a submission, this free service can help with how to present your views in a submission, and the steps you’ll need to take after making your submission.

  • Zoom Q&A session - we’re planning a public zoom session on 22 September at 7.00 pm so you can talk to our Planning team and ask your questions. Register now by emailing planning@uhcc.govt.nz. If we get enough interest, we’ll go ahead.

  • Request support - if you need a hand working through the supporting information and how the changes may impact you, please contact the planning team at planning@uhcc.govt.nz or 04 527 2169.

Submissions close at 5.00 pm on 30 September.
