How to recognise the council team

We’ve had a report of a person allegedly impersonating a council animal control officer at a residential address to seek cash payments for fees or fines. We’re investigating this matter and are in contact with the police. If you have information, please contact police.

Here are some tips to ensure you know you are talking to the council team:

• All council staff will be able to produce their photo ID and a warrant of appointment too.
• Our parking, animal control, building, roading and parks and reserves teams all wear uniform and generally travel in council branded vehicles.
• Our team will never ask you for cash payments and do not ask for your account details. In some instances, they may carry mobile EFTPOS.
• You can ask the staff member their name and this can be verified by a call to the council customer services team.
