Criterion Lane/Fergusson Drive Carpark open

Kua tūwhera te tūnga waka hou ki mua i te whare kaunihera me te whare tāonga o Whirinaki. The new carpark opposite the Civic Centre and Whirinaki Whare Taonga is open!

 

The new carpark provides 72 parking spaces, and the existing gravel area behind the Longhorn Bar continues to be available for parking.

 

Access to the parking is off Criterion Lane. The remaining grassed area will be levelled using the topsoil removed from the construction area, and will be fenced off to protect it from damage in the future.

 

The work also includes: constructing a new pedestrian link between Fergusson Drive and Criterion Lane; protection of the significant trees; some landscaping and gardens; and power outlets to allow the space to potentially be used for other events and activities on the weekend. 

 

It's all day parking and it's free.
