Upper Hutt is now at Alert Level 3
Published on 01 September 2021
Upper Hutt is now at Alert Level 3. For Council, this is much the same as AL4. Our offices and facilities remain closed and some of our services must be stopped or may be operating at a reduced capacity.
AL3 allows some services to resume such as building inspections and small groups for funerals and tangihanga. For more information on Council services during lockdown, go to www.upperhuttcity.com/Services/Emergency-management/COVID-19/Council-services
If you need any support, please reach out. Our Customer Services team can take your call remotely or you can send us an email. A list of the ways to contact Council is on our Get in Touch page.
For a reminder about the requirements at AL3, go to https://covid19.govt.nz/alert-levels-and-updates/alert-level-3
Consistent with the decision made by Council in lockdown last year, Council and Council Committee meetings are cancelled at Alert Level 3 and 4 and will resume after two weeks of coming down to Alert Level 2 (possibly by Zoom). Agenda items that would have been included at cancelled meetings will be transferred to the next available meeting.
These decisions reflect our approach as a Council to prioritise reacting to and responding to the impact of Covid-19 to ensure we can continue to supply services to and support our community.
What this means is that the Community Grants meeting, 9 September is postponed. We will be looking for another date in September.
Updates will be shared via Facebook and on our website, and you are welcome to send your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Work on the Pinehaven Culverts roading project and the Pempsey Street watermain renewal will resume under AL3. The teams will be working under the Alert L3 regulations and today will largely be setting up the site so they can follow these rules before works on these projects resumes.
We want to keep everyone safe so we ask that you try to stay as far away from the onsite teams as you can. We know the work we’re doing is interesting for some people but for the time being please remember to keep those distances.
