Upper Hutt City Council maintains a collection of user-friendly Online Maps and Apps that are available to the general public. These maps are stored in a Map Gallery and include the Xplorer Viewer, Hazards Map, Draft PC50 Zoning and Engagement, an Arts and Heritage Tour and much more.
There are several Maps and Apps currently being developed including a Tracks Viewer and a Community Map. These will be added to the Map Gallery as they are published.
Launch Map Gallery
Upper Hutt City Council has redeveloped the Xplorer Viewer with newer and more advanced technology. The new Xplorer has all the same information as the old version, but with more capabilities and improved performance. Xplorer can be accessed in the Map Gallery “Xplorer (Public)”.
Xplorer allows users to search for properties in Upper Hutt and obtain information such as rates, consents, legal descriptions and underground services in relation to the property of interest. Users may also view the relevant District Planning Zones and/or Sub-Zones along with proposed plan changes.
Download our 'How-To' map user guide for help on using Xplorer, how to search for information and access different layers.
Looking for Information on Wind Zones?
We do not display wind zones data in our public map viewers such as Xplorer or our Natural Hazards Map, as the dataset of wind zones for Upper Hutt is indicative only, and has not recently received an update or review. Independent assessments are highly suggested by our building team, as every site is different. However, a map of wind zones for Upper Hutt is available for download via the link below:
