For the whole month of Mahuru/September there will be a range of kaupapa/events happening across Upper Hutt which allow you to whakanui/celebrate Mahuru Māori.
It can be shopping at retailers that display a Māori Language sticker, attending a te reo Māori Story Tots session at Puna Mātauranga/Central Library or attending one of our free te reo Māori pāpori/community classes, there is something for everyone in our pāpori to get involved.

Join Te Kahu, our Kaitakawaenga Kaupapa Māori (Māori Advisor), for a special StoryTots session on Wednesday, 13 September.
We will be holding a series of free te reo Māori akomonga/ classes for the pāpori/ community to attend and learn the basics of our national language.
This class covers practical te reo Māori that you can use every day in a safe and engaging way including nga tae/colours, rā o te wiki/days of the week, and basic sentence structures. If this sounds like something you’d might be interested in, please rēhitatanga/register below.
