Volunteering in our community

There are many opportunities for people to volunteer in Upper Hutt including schools, community groups, organisations and businesses. Each will have their own screening, interview and application process.

If you would like to volunteer your time, skills or services to a specific group it is usually best to call them directly and talk to them about their volunteer needs, criteria and expectations.

If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity but you aren’t quite sure what you would like to do or what volunteer opportunities exist in Upper Hutt or the Hutt Valley then contacting Volunteer Wellington is a good place to start.

To find out more about volunteering opportunities in Upper Hutt and the Hutt Valley contact Volunteer Hutt, a branch of Volunteer Wellington directly.

Cheers to our Volunteers is an initiative which Upper Hutt City Council created to thank the city’s many volunteers. Look out for the Cheers to our Volunteers billboards every June during National Volunteer Week.
