Lesley Elliott promotes safe teen relationships in Upper Hutt
On 9 January, 2008, Lesley Elliott was witness to her 22-year-old daughter Sophie's murder at the hands of ex-boyfriend Clayton Weatherston. Upper Hutt City Council are hosting a free presentation by Lesley Elliott to raise awareness regarding abuse and unhealthy teen relationships.

Youth Week 2012 – get involved!

‘Love the skin you’re in’ is the theme for this year’s Youth Week - 19th to 27th May. If you want to get involved with a Youth Week event in Upper Hutt then come along to the 'ideas meeting' on Wednesday 21 March, 3.30 to 4.30pm at the Upper Hutt City Council. Read the media release.

Future Dragons Is Here!
‘Future Dragons’ is back in 2012 and better than ever! Future Dragons is a series of workshops set up by the Upper Hutt City Council to help young people develop fundamental skills in business and entrepreneurship.

If you have a talent, skill or invention you think could one day be turned into a business then Future Dragons is the workshop for you.

		2010 Youth Survey Results Hutt Valley youth mostly feel cheerful, active and interested in life according to a youth survey taken last year. Some 2800 young people responded to the Hutt Valley Youth Survey 2010 - a comprehensive view of the wellbeing of young people undertaken by the Upper Hutt and Lower Hutt city councils in collaboration with Police, Regional Public Health and other agencies including Community Action Youth and Drugs (CAYAD) Hutt Valley, WellTrust, Secret Level and Vibe.
