Local Body Elections were held on Saturday 12 October 2013
Elections for all local authorities in New Zealand are held on the second Saturday in October, every three years, using the postal voting method (i.e voting papers and candidate information are posted to everyone enrolled to vote and you return your voting paper back via the post or drop it into Council during the voting period by no later than 12midday on election day.
