| Representation arrangements – Triennial Elections |
The Upper Hutt City Council has reviewed representation arrangements for the 2013 Triennial Election as required by Sections 19H and 19J of the Local Electoral Act 2001.
At its meeting held on 22 February 2012, the Council resolved that the following proposal should be the basis for election of the Council at the 2013 Triennial Elections:
- That Council be elected by the electors of the district as a whole;
- That the total number of Councillors be elected to remain at 10; and
- That Council not constitute any Communities.
The foregoing proposal was publicly notified by advertisement in the Upper Hutt Leader on 7 March 2012. The public consultation period ran from Wednesday 7 March 2012 and closed at 5pm on Friday 20 April 2012. No submissions were received in respect of it.
Notice is therefore given that the foregoing proposal is now final. It will be the basis for election at the 2013 Triennial General Elections and will continue in effect until changed by a further determination under the Local Electoral Act 2001. Click here for more information. |

RIVER WARNING
Heavy rain and high river flows over the weekend is likely to have removed any remnant toxic cyanobacteria mats from the Hutt River and the risk to river users is now low. However, river users should exercise caution when walking dogs or swimming in these rivers. Get the latest updates on the GWRC website.
