Lively Parks is a joint Hutt City Council and Upper Hutt City Council initiative providing mostly free activities in more than 10 local parks across the Hutt Valley including:
Both Council's value your wellbeing, so we deliver programmes like Lively Parks to encourage you to be active and healthy, learn new skills and develop new interests using the valley's parks, outdoor areas and sporting facilities.

PUSH PLAY IN THE PARK Join us during the day for fun and games for the children in a community park near you! Led by the Xtream Activation team. Bring a picnic, bring sunscreen, bring your kids.

PILATES
Increase your core strength, flexibility and postural awareness by learning the essentials of Pilates by using controlled exercises and breathing patterns.

GYMSPORTS FOR CHILDREN
Gymsports is great for kids to experience fundamental movement skills that are the building blocks for being fit and strong. Bring the kids along for a fun session brought to you by Rimutaka Gymsports.

YOGA
Relax and enjoy the surroundings while working on flexibility, core and improving muscular imbalances. Yoga is for all levels, learn the basic positions and movements in a friendly atmosphere.

PETANQUE
Enjoy the evening sun while meeting new people in this social activity. Learn the fundamental skills of Petanque in a friendly non competitive environment. All equipment will be provided and the members of the Upper Hutt Petanque club will be on hand to encourage you to join them!

QI GONG FOR CLEAR AND HEALTHY MIND
Maximise the capabilities of the body and mind through movments and energy training. Learn how to sense and cultivate energy to achieve a feeling of serenity. These introductory classes will leave you feeling calm, in-control and invigorated.
