Elections
Elections for all local authorities in New Zealand are held on the
second Saturday in October every 3 years. Upper Hutt City Council uses
the postal voting method. The elections are held under the Local Electoral Act 2001, the Local
Electoral Regulations 2001 and the Local Government Act 2002.
The local authority elections are your chance to have a say in decisions the Council makes that affect electors. The next local authority election will be held on Saturday, 12 October 2013.
