Public Notification of Summary of Submissions Proposed Plan Change No.22 to the Upper Hutt City Council District Plan (2004)

 

The Upper Hutt City Council gives NOTICE as required by clause 7 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, of the availability of a summary of decisions requested by persons making submissions on Plan Change No.22 to the Upper Hutt City Council District Plan 2004.

1)	Intent of Proposed Plan Change No.22 Temporary events occur regularly throughout the City and contribute to the social, cultural and economic wellbeing of the Upper Hutt community. Currently the District Plan does not make specific reference to temporary events nor does it have objectives, policies, rules and standards that specifically address the environmental effects that generally arise from temporary events. It is considered that temporary events warrant being specifically provided for in the District Plan in order to ensure that Upper Hutt can continue to host such events, and do so in a manner that ensures that the resulting environmental effects are appropriately managed.

3)	Making Further Submissions Any person can make a further submission in support of or opposition to anyone or more of the previously received submissions. Further submissions should be made in writing and be in the prescribed form (or to the like effect). Pre-printed further submission forms are available for this purpose and can be obtained from any of the above locations.

	Completed further submission forms may be lodged in any of the following ways:

	The closing date for receipt of further submissions is 5pm on Friday 19 September 2008.
4)	Process after further submissions close
	The Council intends to conduct a Hearing to give those who made a submission or a further submission the opportunity to attend and speak to the Council in support of their submission. Notice of the dates and times of such a Hearing will be given to all submitters in due course. Any person who has made a submission has the right to appeal Council’s decision on the proposal to the Environment Court.
