We are also proud to announce that Readynet is now available in Upper Hutt FREE to all groups and fixed sites throughout the whole of Hutt Valley.
Readynet assembles stores and shares emergency management information about user sites or groups. This means that sites such as schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, rest homes, hotels/motels, retail outlets, businesses, factories, sports clubs - in fact any site within the Councils boundaries where people gather for any purpose can connect to Readynet. Residential homes, cultural groups, and special need groups can join as part of the Neighbourhood Support Group site.
Users are provided with secure access to a website that provides templates to guide the assembly and storage of relevant emergency management information. Once sites go through the process of connecting to Readynet and assemble and complete their data input, they will have greatly improved their Emergency Preparedness (and have their Emergency Action Guide to prove it!). They will know and record the answers to such information as:
-
Who is the Emergency Manager for the site?
-
Who are the Service and Medical Providers and their contact details?
-
What are the risks for this site/area and what are the response plans for those risks?
-
Where is the Offsite evacuation location and who is the contact or has the keys for it?
-
The contact details for the closest emergency services, civil defence centres and the Councils Emergency Operations Centre?
-
Who at this site has any special/disability or medical needs or requirements?
Neighbourhood Support and Community Support groups register through their coordinator and identify the group contact people and record:
-
The general location, the number and age range of members.
-
Details of the nearest civil defence centre.
-
The Emergency Operations Centre for Hutt City Council, Police and Fire Service details, radio stations.
-
Any special/disability or medical needs of the group.
The stored information is also shared with the City Councils Emergency Management Office and the Police 111 Call Centre which could help them when they are planning for or responding to an actual or threatening emergency event at or near your site or area.
Along with improving emergency preparedness, users can be better informed by being able to receive Urgent Alerts and/or emergency information via email or Text message.
Readynet users contribute to a more resilient and emergency prepared community.
