Photographs
The photograph collection comprises nearly 2,500 photographs relating to the Upper Hutt environs and the activities of the community who have lived here over the last 150 years.The photographs provide a visual record of the changes in landscape as well as the diverse range of Upper Hutt social and cultural events, from civic functions to informal activities of the community.
Recently an exciting new project to digitize the photographic collection has been completed. These images are now available online. The support of a Lottery - Heritage and Environment grant for the digitization project is gratefully acknowledged.
Photographs not digitized can be viewed at the Upper Hutt Library during the weekday hours of 10am - 5pm or weekends and evenings by appointment. Email our Archivist for more information.
