Upper Hutt
Its a sunny Saurday afternoon and you and your mates have got together and want to do something, but what? You might be thinking there is nothing to do in Upper Hutt but you would be as wrong as a turnip. There are plenty of things to do! Here at the Upper Hutt City council we will help you find activities that interest you! Here is a huge list of fun and exciting enterpises that you might fancy.
H2O Xtreme
Get set to get wet at the Hutt Valleys finest swimming centre. Surf the waves of the automated wave machine, get swept away in the vigorous river ride or slide your way to victory in one of three water slides. Theres plenty of fun to be had at the always reliable H2O Xtreme!

Ascot Cinema
If the weather is not so hot then Ascot Cinema is the place to go. Sit back in an extremely comfortable chair with a bag of popcorn and an icecream and enjoy a quality cinematic experience at Ascot cinema. Every Tuesday night is $10 Tuesday! Go see a film for only $10! It sure beats staying at home and catching flys.

Staglands
When was the last time you touched a llama? Well a small trip up the Akatarawa Road and you can be in a sea of Llamas (maybe) and other wildife. Staglands offers visitors an oppurtunity to get up close and personal with wildlife. There are a range of activities which will turn any normal day into a crazy super fantastic day. You could feed trout, ride horses and get chased by deer all in one afternoon! Who needs television when you have Staglands.

Silverstream Golf Park
Sick of playing rugby and soccer? Need a new game to tickle your fancy? Well how about trying the sport of kings. A game of golf! The Silverstream golf park offers amatuers the oppurtunity to smack a small white ball around a 9 hole course. If you're not ready for the course just yet then practice your skills on the all weather driving range. You get to hit the golf balls off a deck three metres in the air, now thats pretty ballin. The golf park is located in Silverstream close to the Silverstream McDonalds.

Maidstone Max Down Hill Cycling
Got a bike? Got some friends? Got the ambition to go really fast down a hill with friends on a bike? Well then the Maidstone Max down hill cycling track is just for you! The down hill cycling track give users the fun of both going down hill and cycling. Its an activity you can get all your friends into and better yet its free! So get on down to the track, which begins at the top of Seymour Grove off King Charles Drive. You can go straight to the bottom for some sick jumps which is at Maidstone park across the road from Mitre 10 Mega.

Kaitoke Regional Park
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city then the Kaitoke Regional Park is the place to go. Placed just north of Upper Hutt City, Kaitoke shows off why New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Kaitoke is a great place to go with some friends. You can bush walk in the morning, swim in the afternoon and have a good old fashioned bbq in the evening. Want to stay longer? Well there is plenty of room to park a mobile home or pitch a tent and sleep under the stars. Not only is Kaitoke an awesome slice of nature but it is home to some magic aswell. The Elven safe hold of Rivendell lies deep within its forest and rivers. Go see a part of Middle Earth that people across the world would die to see. A few days in Kaitoke is a perfect way to live up the summer.

The Mall
If you've done your gym, tan but haven't quite got to your laundry, The Upper Hutt Mall is the perfect place to get updated with the latest threads. Full of funky fashion shops such as Amazon and Hallensteins the Mall is a good way to spend a day especially if you like your shopping. Not only does the Mall contain the latest clothes shops but its got a variety of food stores which will get your taste buds excited. You can't beat a nice cold chocolate sundae from Wendy's, especially when you're sharing it with friends.

Tunnel Gully
Tunnel Gully is not just about the tunnel, even though the tunnel is mighty impressive, there is so much more to see and do! Tunnel gully is a great place to go cycling, tramping or just for a walk. You can get some exercise with some friends in the summer sun. If you think you are up to it you can ascend the might Mount Climie which ,if you reach the top, will give you a soaring view over the entire Hutt Valley.

The River
The problem with the world today is that everything costs money and sometimes you just don't have any. Well there is an activity that is free and always will be, the trusty river. When Upper Hutt's weather is at its best there is no better place to be then the local river. Doing depth charges, bombs and staples into the crystal clear fesh water is what life is all about. The only thing you need to worry about is that you can swim! If you can't swim you can also sit on the river bank and soak up some rays or skip some stones. Some of the best days of the year are those spent by the river. Get down there before Global warming dries it all up.

Youthtown
Sometimes you just want to get out there and do some stuff. Simple as that. Well Youthtown provides youth with places to hang out and the sweetest things to do. With events such as 'The Grind' where you get to listen to the latest and greatest in Upper Hutt bands or even participate. Theres also 'Chill" where if your bored you can just chill out and play some playstation down at the Youthtown centre.
