Maria joined the Activation team in late 2008. Her experience includes 20 something years in the recreation industry in a variety of roles and organisations. Previously she has worked in Upper Hutt community and is excited about coming back to this wonderful environment and community.
Maria is a keen sporting nut, including umpiring hockey and all other voluntary roles that it is possible to do in clubs in New Zealand.
The role with the Activation team including leading and supporting the team to encourage more people to be more active more often, and aiding clubs and groups with their capacity and programmes. As well there is an opportunity to influence policy and infrastructure to help remove barriers to participation. Feedback and comments from the Upper Hutt community is always welcome.
