Water Conservation
Upper Hutt City is committed to saving water. It is important that we all use water wisely to ensure that there continues to be enough for everyone. Climate scientists predict a trend towards drier periods which will lead to an increase in water demand. The Upper Hutt City Council is keen to see water conservation practices implemented and believes that you are willing to help. Water is a precious natural resource that is often taken for granted. We have various water conservation leaflets available to assist you as a domestic, institutional or commercial water consumer to find leakage or thoughtfully reduce your consumption so that:
- domestic consumers can rest assured they are managing their usage thoughtfully.
- in the case of schools this could become a project in conservation or management for students to partake in - making it not only educational, but profitable, by reducing operating costs.
- as Commercial customers you could potentially reduce your water bill.
