Committees
The Council is empowered by Clause 32 of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002, to delegate any of its responsibilities duties or powers to any Committee or Subcommittee of the Council, or to any Member(s) or Officer(s).Delegations made by the council include the power to subdelegate unless the Council specfies to the contrary.
Note:
The Council is unable to delegate any of the following:
- the power to make a rate
- the power to make a bylaw
- the power to borrow money or to purchase or dispose of assets other than in accordance with the LTCCP
- the power to appoint a Chief Executive
- the power to adopt policies required to be adopted and consulted on under the Local Government Act 2002 in association with the LTCCP or developed for the purpose of the Local Governance Statement.
