Household hazardous waste collection
Council provides a free annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection around August/September where householders can dispose of the following items:
- fluorescent and ecobulbs
- paint, paint cans, stains, old solvents and paint stripper
- pool chemicals
- thinners and degrrasers
- petrol, oil and batteries
- cleaners, bleach and disinfectants
- wood preservatives
- garden chemicals and pesticides
- gas cylinders
- glue, etc.
Items that will not be collected are:
- asbestos
- medical waste such as syringes
- ammunition or explosives and
- commercial waste.
