Rating Guide 2007/2008

This page provides the rating system and the rates approved by Council for the financial year from 1 July 2007 and ending 30 June 2008.  It sets out the different categories of rates and service charges and the purpose of each one.

Rates & Charges

The rates were struck by Council at an Ordinary meeting held on 27 June 2007.

Payment of Rates

Five instalments will be issued during this financial year and depending on which part of the City you reside in, the due dates (and penalty dates), will be as shown on the final panel of this guide and on the reverse side of your rates notice.

Payment can be made by cash or cheque, Eftpos or automatic payment. Automatic payments are encouraged and cover automatic credits (weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly), telephone banking or direct debits.  Please check for further detail as per the reverse side of your rates notice.  Ratepayers already on automatic payments should check that these are sufficient to cover the new rates.
