Week 20And it's over!
So, all the duathlons are done, and the whole experience is over!
I really enjoyed the duathlon on Sunday. I found it hard. As you all would have noticed my training and enthusiasm waned as we neared the end of the duathlon series.
I went into the first duathlon with a lot of oomph, then when I injured myself, it took me a while to get back on the bandwagon, but I began to lose my enthusiasm towards the third. When work got busy, and I had a lot of personal stuff going on, my training got pushed to the bottom of my priority list.
But, I'm really proud that I completed all 3 events, and although I came last in the final senior long event, I'm stoked I did it.
It has certainly shown me that I am capable of doing it, and if I really wanted to, I could get into multisport.
The running was more enjoyable for me than cycling, but I know plenty of people that are the other way around. It's all personal preference. And I am going to continue running. I would still, like I mentioned a few weeks back, like to eventually aim for a marathon, but will aim for a half first!
I'm going to continue exercising. It's amazing the difference it makes to your overall emotional state and your perception of yourself, both physically and mentally. I always feel so much better about myself when I've exercised.
I hope you really enjoyed the duathlons and have pulled something out of it, even if it is that you don't like running or cycling :)
Hopefully you continue exercising, it is so good for your health and can be really enjoyable - you've just got to find what works for you!
All the best for your future fitness!
