Programmes
Bike Wise
Bike Wise is New Zealand’s national programme of activities, which promote cycling as a fun, healthy and safe way to travel.
Over the past few years, through a dedicated network of regional and local coordinators, we’ve been getting more people on their bikes and improving bike safety. Why not join us and get back in the saddle?.
Bike Wise Month, held in February every year, consists of a number of activities and events across the country, including the Mayoral Challenge, Go By Bike Day and the Bike Wise Challenge.
Beyond these, there are many more school, community and other biking-related activities taking place in February and throughout the year.
Bike Wise Challenge - February
The Bike Wise Challenge is a fun and free competition held every February between organisations to see who can get the most staff to ride a bike for at least 10 minutes or 2 km.
More than 2,000 organisations and departments took part in the Bike Wise Challenge 2011. The next Challenge will be held throughout February 2012.
