DIScover is an Upper Hutt City Council-produced document developed to encourage social change. It provides staff working in customer service roles guidance on how to provide excellent service to people with disabilities.
DIScover is supported by an accompanying training document that was piloted with Council facilities’ staff in October 2011. Combined, the resources aim to increase disability awareness, educate staff and in turn enable disabled people to participate more fully in their communities.
DIScover was funded by Family and Community Services – Making a Difference Fund, and the intention is that this resource and training document can be picked up by organisations, councils and other agencies throughout the country.
Links to download the DIScover resource and accompanying training document are provided right. If you have any questions or would like a hard copy posted to you please contact the Upper Hutt City Council Community Services team on firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 04 527 2169.
Upper Hutt City Council’s DIScover pilot training workshops were facilitated by Pam MacNeill. Please contact Pam directly if you would like to discuss workshop options.
